whoever's in charge of this site is doing alright. It's quite user-friendly, kudos. personally it's good to see that the program is going strong in this county, as it was significantly beneficial and a memorable chapter of my youth. if you're like me and can't stop watching dr. phil (i think he might be a hypnotist)then you know that there are a lot of kids out there with not enough to do and a lot of parents with no idea what to do about it. But the options are there if they could only locate them and this site is certainly an aid in that endeavor. if i ever manage to trick a girl into liking me then i'm sure i'll be getting the little ones steered into the same program that meant so much to me. ttfn

We moved to Stockton recently, and I am looking for activities to involve my 6 year old nature and animal lover daughter. Any ideas?

BTW: am a UCDavis alumnus, and love your site!

Thank you for your response. We currently have a variety of 4-H clubs located in the Stockton area. I encourage you to check them out and see which one best fits your interest. We also have clubs outside of Stockton but not too far away... so if you are closer to Lodi, for example, please let me know and I can send you those contacts as well! Glad to see you enjoyed our site! Hope you were able to check out TIPS, our County Newsletter located on the site!

One-third of my students are obese. I was hoping to download teaching materials to help them change their poor eating habits. Please help. Thank you.

Here are some web sites that may give you a start. Let me know if you need more.

What school are you with and what grade level? Is it in San Joaquin County? We have a Youth Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program that has some terrific curriculums for teachers, and our youth program educators would be thrilled to discuss them with you. Their target population is schools with 50% or more of the children receiving free and reduced lunches. Do you fit into that category?

Sorry you're having difficulty with our 4-H newsletter. Do you have the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader? It can be downloaded free at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

If that doesn't solve your problem, contact the 4-H Office (468-2094) & they will be glad to mail your copy through the US mail.
