San Joaquin County is a mix of agriculture farmland surrounding rapid urban expansion, with hundred of miles of rivers that form the Delta islands. My responsibilities are to conduct educational programs and issue-focused research projects on environmental issues in the area of ornamental horticulture, urban IPM and water quality, and green waste utilization and evaluation. Education materials will be directed to professional landscapers, public agencies, Master Gardeners, watershed planning management groups and nurseries.
